Do you take walk ins?
Absolutely! We are a smaller, private studio, but if we have an open spot we will absolutely squeeze you in or get you scheduled for our soonest available time slot!
What can I do in preparation of my appointment?
Please do not drink alcohol or use any type of blood thinning OTC medication (such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin) within 24 hours of your appointment. Please refrain from sun exposure/tanning beds the 2 weeks prior to (as well as the 2 weeks after) your appointment. Get a good rest the night before, eat a full meal, and drink lots of water before coming in. We also recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing that will limit obstruction to the area which we will be tattooing.
If you are a new client, please bring a government-issued photo ID (license, state ID, passport, etc.) with you to your first appointment. Please bring any reference material with you. Feel free to bring your headphones, a tablet, book, magazine, bottle of water/any other non-alcoholic beverage with a lid, and light snacks if desired.
Eat plenty of protein and come well hydrated. Getting tattooed releases endorphins. On an empty stomach, these endorphins can lead to nausea. Light-headedness also can occur, so it is good to have your blood sugar up prior to getting tattooed.
If you are sick, please (please please please) stay home. Our artists value their health as well as the health of their families. If you are unwell we will reschedule your appointment and give you priority in our schedule in order to get you in as soon as possible once you are feeling better. Our artists reserve the right to cancel your appointment on the spot if you show up for your tattoo visibly unwell.
How do I take care of my new tattoo?
CLEANING:
Leave the tattoo bandaged for a minimum of 1 hours. Gently remove bandage then wash the tattoo with warm water and Antibacterial fragrance-free soap (we suggest using Dial Antibacterial Soap).
Gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel, or a paper towel, and allow the tattoo to air dry for 5-10 minutes. DO NOT RUB BACK AND FORTH ON THE TATTOO!
Wash your new tattoo 2-3 times, for the first 3-4 days.
Apply a VERY THIN layer of Lucky Luna ointment to your tattoo. After letting dry pat off any excess ointment that may have built up on the tattoo. Do this 4-6 times a day, or as needed (You can also use fragrance-free lotions).
The ointment/lotion can be applied to the tattoo daily for about 10-14 days or until the tattoo has finished peeling.
HEALING:
DO NOT rebandage the tattoo.
NO direct sunlight on the tattoo for at least 2-3 weeks.
DO NOT pick or scratch the tattoo while its peeling.
DO NOT soak the tattoo for 2 weeks. NO swimming (pool or beach), baths, hot tubs, or saunas for 2 weeks.
NO shaving or waxing area until the tattoo is completely healed.
DO NOT apply alcohol, Vaseline, Petroleum Jelly, or sun block to a fresh tattoo.
NO washing your tattoo in a public restroom. Leave your bandage on until you can cleanly wash the tattoo off at home, or have the artist wash and rebandage.
DO NOT listen to friends or so-called tattoo experts. If you have questions call or visit the artist that did your tattoo!
Once you leave the tattoo studio proper care of your tattoo is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
Once the tattoo is FULLY HEALED you will want to wear sunscreen when spending long periods of time in direct sunlight.
Consult a health care professional at the first sign of infection. Symptoms of infection are fever, swelling, redness, or drainage occur. There is always the possibility of an allergic reaction to some of the tattooing pigments.
Pricing, deposits and tipping?
The cost of your tattoo will all depend on its size, location, amount of detail, and the time needed to complete it. Pricing starts at $100 (shop minimum) for smaller tattoos (line work only) and goes up from there. For larger projects, pricing is determined by the length of the session and whether or not the tattoo is black & grey or color.
All of our artists require a non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment. The amount is determined by and can be higher based on the tattoo and the artist discretion. This deposit will generally go toward your first session of tattooing, your artist will let you know their specific rules on deposits. If you do not show or cancel your tattoo appointment, the deposit is forfeited. Ask your artist about their personal policy as they may vary slightly.
Tipping is a really nice gesture. But, there are no real solid ground rules for tipping.
